hey all,

been doing 3d work for several years, would like to know of indie projects running where i could volunteer for

not sure where to start looking just putting out my feelers to see what knowledge of projects and things and stuff i could get stuck into, are around

send me your suggestions that would be great,

primarily architectural modeling, but do enjoy a bit of organic and some things to challenge my skills just looking for a bit of direction to learn more skills because personal project has come to a grinding halt, assets, toons, vfx, all that fun stuff

open to sugestions just wanna have a look around see if anyone will want to take me on as a vaulenteer with skills available and also to try recover from mental breakdown

This is not the correct place to post… however, the “correct” place to post is being removed and coming back to the forums so there isn’t really a good place outside of the official discord channel.

imo you need to specify more information. What kind of 3d artist are you? do you do character models? hard-surface modelling? Can do you low poly/realistic?

Also, a few screenshots of example work would make people more likely to reply or contact you. Not going to lie… I wouldn’t reach out because I have no idea if after 1 hour of talking I find out you can’t really do much, or that you say you can but your work says otherwise.

What exactly do you want to learn in return for your art because, again, that could determine if I would reach out.

Do you just want experience working in a team? experience with project management? Do you want to improve your own skills (for example do you know about texel density etc), maybe you want to learn to code? or learn some environment design? etc

What is the max time you are willing to contribute in a week? 20 minutes, 1 hour? What timezone are you from? etc Are you looking for experience on mobile games or PC games? maybe a console game? maybe you don’t care.

Do you have a mic? would you join a discord channel and voice chat? etc what time is best for you? (maybe you work during the day and wouldn’t be free until 5pm)

There is a ton of information left out that could help you get into contact with someone. In any case I hope your recovery goes well.

appreciate your response, was just a general question really im not willing to sell my soul to the first person who messages me nor to anything of posting portfolios to forums either just putting my feelers out for avenues or other resources where i could find teams need i apply not lectures

I have no idea where you got this from as none of the things I mentioned equate to selling your soul. If you dont want to post a few screenshots, let alone state anything more than just “I want to be on a team” then you’re not going to get interest from anyone who might actually be able to provide what you want (here or anywhere else).

You could check back when the “looking for work/collab” forum is online and you might have more luck (or use the Unity discord channel to find teams) apart from that I’m not sure where else you can look.

sorry i seemed to have missread,

as i outlayed i am mainly an architectural modeler, although i have been working on characters and have tools such as grow fx that i was working professionally with, im interested in learning programing ways and i guess the particle effect i would like to think my portfolio as thin as it is has been backed my several professional years work that i cannot really share on a public forumn,

ideally i would like to be doing environmental or something as such working of concepts to create in 3d, im quite capable its a crunch deadline that is troubling for me in my repairing, but i lack direction in my art but am capable of whatever i put my mind to

This might be a good place to start whilst you are still looking for a more permanent team.

Welcome! This is the repository for the first Unity Open Project, an initiative where Unity and the community collaborate together to create a small open-source game demo.

The first game, which is currently under development, is an action-adventure titled Chop Chop

appreciate that thankyou
