Any Holiday Games In Development?

Around this time of year I start looking for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas themed games to play and share with family & friends. Web browser based is best but downloadable for windows is fine too.

Anyone working on anything?

For an asset production class, I’ve taken on the task of developing a 5 nights at freddy’s rip off. I’ll be working on it from this thursday until mid december. It’s going to be a point and click adventure game like all of those flash horror games… but full 3D! Look around the room, click on models of things, navigate through a factory / warehouse that stores animatronics / mannequins. Each room will have interactive things like the lights and buttons, but there will be things around the room and clicking in passage ways will take you to other rooms in the familiar point & click fashion.

Tasks will be generated on the fly, pushing you to explore different areas at different times, locate tools to fix broken machines and do horrible things like counting mannequins to make sure none are missing  Or if I go the animatronics route, you made need to conduct repairs, have them perform routines to make sure the animations work correctly and do things like track down (hide from & trap) ones that have started wandering off on their own.

I’ve never seen a point & click adventure game use full 3D so it’ll be fun to try and make something not terrible. It’s an asset production class so this feels like a good way to focus on the assets. Hopefully I’ll get a few scares. I’ll try to toss in an easter egg or holiday themed animatronic for each passing holiday from this week onward.

An animatronic turkey doesn’t sound too scary, but a scarecrow and santa animatronics sound potentially horrifying

Well, I have a 4 month holiday coming up, TOMORROW, so I’m gonna see what I can come up with really. Hopefully can produce a few concepts and work my way through them. Always liked the idea of an elevator horror game. Choose a floor, see what goes down. (See what I did there?)
