Any idea how much the light probes + shader will cost?

They mentioned it will be available in asset store when 3.5 ships, just curious about the cost! if its over $100 it may be a touch too far…

I taught it was integrated :frowning:

it’s integrated, in the keynote it was “new features in 3.5” and one of them was light probes and some other lighting thing.

The keynote pointed out it would be on the asset store when 3.5 shipped. Pay attention to it.

I’m willing to pay of course. Just don’t make it so expensive it angers users.

i’m sorry hippo, but i don’t see, or hear anything about these features being not integrated in 3.5, as you say.
I’ve watched it a few times, and nowhere there is a mention about “being available in the asset store once the 3.5 is ready”, or something along that line. The only thing related to the asset store is a tighter integration, inside the editor, as you can see in the first part of the keynote. Later it’s about what they have been up to with the 3.5 development, and what it will include. (and that they are ready, but need some polishing)

could you show, or explain how you came to your conlusion, of it not being integrated in 3.5, but as addon through the asset store?

Even if it is on the asset store, it might just be on there and free. But I also did not notice that mentioned on the keynote.

Hi, here’s how i got it. The light probe system will be integrated into unity for free, without any additional cost. However, the madfinger guys will sell the shader they used for the character. I don’t remember what price they thought about (they’ve written it in a thread once, but yeah i don’t remember it, sorry), but it’s probably not $100.

They will probably have a pre-rigged example scene to show how it works on the asset store, unless they are thinking of useing the asset store as a new feature release pathway, that would be cool a modular unity!
