Hello my name is bosstvgames and I’m here to get some assistance on my new game that I’m developing I had to recently had to restart due to a character not being able to move. The game will cost around $20.00 dollars USD but it depends on how good the quality the game is. Plus I will need your help! please comment below what you would like in a fps game some features maybe some secrets that a person can find in the game. post your suggestions below thanks -boss
Some FP would be good.
Also some S.
Hey and maybe some secrets that a person can find in the game???
What cruel parents you have…
So you don’t know what to make of your game but you do know how much it will cost?
Come on, be serious. If you have a price you should have at least a concept. “A fps game” says nothing… is a modern military shooter like COD? a story oriented game with powers like Bioshock?
You had to restart development due to a character not being able to move. That…is…interesting…and amusing.
I don’t really like to put down ambitious new guys, but perhaps you should do a little something to get a little something in return. If you can’t provide ideas or show that you have any serious game coding/development abilities or even general knowledge of what needs to be done. You may want to work on that first.
Start with a simpler game genre or start with the simplest FPS(working character, enemies, shooting, guns) and then you’ll have a better idea of how much work it takes to make a simple game and what kind of ideas you want to take on. You might also have better responses when asking for help with ideas and things.
Good luck.
I’m assuming you tried to animate it, right?
…
…Right?
Look through the collaboration forum… you’ll find hundreds of non-completed FPS projects with great ideas…
requesting ideas without giving any of yours first…? and character problem would cause production to restart? sound strange to me…
I heard Rockstar had to restart GTA 5 from scratch 6 times because their characters kept getting stuck. Nothing destroys a project faster than a character not being able to move. Back in 97 I wrote an essay on it.
this forum need a section for kids.
ROFL
Before you start selling your game, you need to build a few games start to finish. Think of those first few games as practice. Don’t try to sell your first game, because it won’t be as good as you had planned. Just build something small. Include the menus and everything else that you would need in a finished game, but chalk the entire first game up as a learning exercise.
Once you have completed your first game, show it to friends and share it in the Work in Progress section of the forum. Accept the constructive feedback you get.
Then sit down and write your $20 FPS. At that point, you won’t have trouble with a character not being able to move, because will you understand scripting and animation. If/when you run into other problems, put your $20 FPS idea on the back burner for a while and build another simple practice game. Then go back to your $20 FPS and try to finish it again. Each small practice game you build will make it vastly easier for you to understand how to build your $20 FPS.
Well thanks everyone for the encouraging ideas! NOT!
Oh - got me there! I thought we were actually getting thanks… but it turns out we weren’t!
This is a forum… made for discussions, this thread… we have nothing to discuss about.
How about creating an idea yourself, come back to us with it, and we’ll help you with it.
You’ve embarrassed yourself by putting unnecessary details in your topic:
That was not needed, it just made you look like a fool and nobody will take you seriously. To be honest even without all that detail you’d still look like a fool asking for a game idea in which thousands and thousands of people already have asked. Hell I even made a fool of myself when I first wandered into this forum, asking for help on a script and getting pooped on by senior members. Anyways you gotta do some research, play some games, look up articles for game development, get some inspiration and you’ll get a game idea.
We can’t help you, you have to help yourself.
I think it’s a bold move. A revolutionary new concept.
Have you considered implementing Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics into your game? I bet it would be really interesting to play an FPS that featured Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics. You’d get a lot of fans.
Game idea. Slingshots with physics and ricochet shots. I always liked the idea of slingshots.
Ok, here’s an idea:
Multiplayer - three teams - each with their own weapons and abilities. You pick a side when you start playing, and you advance your “career” throughout the game (unlockable weapons etc). Add different game modes (capture the anything, team dm, assault/defense).
Each match you will play against ONE team, though the other team will also be in the game. Essentially, your own team will be split into two “squads”, fighting either TeamB or TeamC, each with their own set of objectives. You can kill all enemies, but only the team that you’re supposed to be fighting will add to your score.
