any ideas of how to make a turn function using foreces rather than transformations

i nead it for a racing game becaus the deat scrip the car flips bacwards howether the AI cars are using transform.LookAt(target); so it is cancled out

when the car is supposed to flip turn off the transform.LookAt function with a boolean variable. Also to make the cars turn/rotate (I think you mean rotate as turning would mean it remained on the ground and in control, and usually turning is round the y axis) you can use rigidbody.AddTorque. So part of your script may roughly look like this:-

var SwitchOffTarget : boolean = false;

if (SwitchOffTarget == false)
{
   transform.LookAt(target);
}
if (SwitchOffTarget == true)
{
  rigidbody.AddTorque (1,1,1);
}

function Death()
{
   SwitchOffTarget = true;
}
