From the video, there was no special features the plugin adds, FYI you can get a free plugin to convert your seams to edges, tho I believe even that is integrated into max unwrapping now. If you want a good set of unwrapping tools for max, for free, check out textools - I wont link it, its found easily enough on google.

I am using textools in max 2012, just grab it, it installs just fine :stuck_out_tongue:
