Hey all, I’m in the process of implementing a system for my game to retrieve/display a news feed with images/links from a remote server. We’re having hard time reaching our fans on websites like Kongregate because they don’t typically look outside of the game window, and going forward our plan is to blanket a lot of sites with the game, so delivering news updates and links to our website should really help our reach.
We also plan to use it to direct people towards our Steam Greenlight page, etc. and expect a decent sized jump in our upvotes compared to the various social media and other attempts we’ve made in that area.
1. Would anyone have interest in such a thing if I put it up on the asset store?
2. If so - what would you consider a reasonable price?
What it would include:
- A php setup script to create a database/table on a server
- A php script to submit/edit news items
- A game-side C# script to retrieve the most recent news items, filtered by platform etc.
- An example script to display the news items.
