Any news on DOTS working on CPU and GPU yet?

In theory DOTS could cross compile to the GPU and allow for developers to take advantage of the much higher core counts on GPUs and also do more graphically.

When Unity released the Mathematics library with it’s GPU style API I had high hopes that this was a sign that DOTS would open the way to easy GPU compute via C#/DOTS/Burst.

So any news or updates or leaks regarding DOTS working on GPUs?

PS It could allow for a much more powerful terrain/foliage/furniture/building system.

We have been prototyping different approaches so far, so it’s definitely doable but to provide a comprehensive experience supported across the platforms we want to support, it will require more work than just these prototypes.

As we have currently higher priorities on our roadmap to respond to customer requests (e.g compilation time on large projects, stability…) we don’t have a plan for this year to work on this, and it is still unclear if we will be able to work on this next year, but it’s definitely on our longer term plan.
