Hey guys,
since the presentation of Unity 4, I’ve been waiting for the new UI system promised by the developers. Ever since then, news about this system were very sparse. Is it still in development, or is it cancelled? Is there a release date the developers are aiming at? Will it be available in the free version of Unity or pro-only? Any news on this would be great!

They still work at it. But dont hold your breath for it. Its never a good idea to rely at promises. The one for the new UI system already gots broken before, it was already promised for 3.5. And you cannot develop your software with promises. When you have other things to do while you are waiting then it migth be an option to wait a bit more. When not you have to use what is currently available anyways.
We have to probably wait until the next Unite (Unite 2024: Conference for Game Devs & Creators | Unity)
