Any tips on installation of Asset Server 2.0 on Debian?

dpkg is not correctly installing on my Debian 5.0.4 host because the install scripts are being run as unitysrv which has no valid environment. I've tried hacking the scripts and creating extra symlinks but no dice. EDIT On Debian 6 asset server installs fine.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, the asset server isn't supported on Debian.

I’m using Debian squeeze 6 and the deb package of the Asset Server does NOT work for me.
