When I try to import a c4d file it says it will download the importer but it never does anything. When I export to FBX the only textures that work are UVW mapped with no tiling. If I do any other projection and with tiling it won’t work. It never tiles the texture and it never sets up the projection correctly. Any fixes for that?
If you’re using C4D R18 then the importer is broken for .c4d files - the Unity plugin does not work. Unity know about it but they are not fixing it yet, according to bug reports and issues. (It’s made it back onto their roadmap now, I notice - Unity Issue Tracker - Unity fails to import native file from Cinema 4D R18)
Broken importing from C4D R18 is a bit of a pain because R18 finally supports vertex colours… but they do work nicely exporting to .fbx.
The material setup usually inverts the texture direction in one of the directions, and I think tiling goes a bit silly at times too. You can manually set it in the materials after import - I don’t know of any quick fixes.
