Any way to insert back inside an FBX an edited animation clip for cutting? (or cut externally)

Hello Community! Recently i made some animations for my character with all the weapons and imported them to unity , too bad the imported fbx had a wrong rotation in between the pistol animations so i duplicated the clip and edited it inside unity . Now, i still need to cut the whole animation since it’s complete for all needed weapons , how can i cut it ? The inspector way seems a no go since i can’t drop the duplicate back inside my model fbx and view the clip from the animation tab

sorry for necro but i’m leaving this here for similiar questions.
I just casually learned that i could have cut the animation by simply pasting keyframes into a brand new clip , externally to the fbx inspector
