Anyone else here ever tried to Undo something IRL after a long day working with computer?
Happened to me the other day, I got up the chair and did something, and then I thought “Shouldn’t have done that…” and right after that I also thought “UNDO!! UNDO!!!” until few seconds later I realized that it’s undoable.
I tend to feel an overwhelming sense of being powerless when I realize it can’t be done and then, after the depression sinks away I am left feeling just plain stupid…
Just proof that more and more, humans are living in a virtual world. Think about when computers are nano-bots floating around in your blood stream and you control them with thoughts. What will ctrl-z be like then?
what happens to me after modelling characters with a mirror modifier (X symmetry), i feel like scratching my left part of the body would scratch the right part of the body… and similar things
This unfortunately happens to all dedicated 3D modelers/ texture artists and it can get quite annoying. Imagine hiking in otherwise awe-inspiring scenery only to be thinking of how you could model that particular tree/ bush/ flower patch or whether it would be better to billboard it or not.
Really kills any hope of a real vacation. Sure, you’re away from that (now) dreaded PC but the 3D creation mindset never goes on vacation.
Second that. I have almost no time to work in Unity these days but every second I can spare I am here and my mind is still locked in Unity mode. Just yesterday my wife goes: “Oh, and this year, the prices are going up by a varying percentage per supplier. Oh, sitting there with my calculator doing updates one by one… how awful this is going to be”
The first thing that comes to mind is how simple such a project would be to code using the OnGUI function. Real life problem - OnGUI - Smile and say: “My dear, you are married to a programmer” and spend my lunch hour working in Unity…
So sometimes, it has it’s plusses to always be thinking in code…
