Anything wrong with Asset Store Chargeback?

Hi,

I’m publisher since 1 year on Unity’s Asset Store. I got 0 chargeback until this month, but this month i got 3 chargebacks for my products. And weird thing is this;

As you know, if you have changed your product’s price on Asset Store, your product will be doubled with old and new price. Take a look at this;

As you can see i’ve changed my product’s price to 25$ from 15$ on 01 November. And quantity is clearly 0, and i got 1 chargeback for this product. And someone bought the product on 17 November? It’s impossible, because product price has been changed to new price on 01 November.

Anyone got this weird thing?

Best Regards,
Bugra

I just found this because after more than two years on the Asset Store without a single chargeback, I also had one this month - interestingly also on Nov 17th 2014 (today - at least that’s what it looks like).

So my guess would be that someone is trying some fraud scheme here buying lots of assets, doing chargebacks and then probably offering a download on some shady piracy site.

Any UT officials looking into this already?

Reckon some dodgy individual got a stolen credit card number and has done a sweep on the AssetStore more than likely so they can then sell the same assets on the various Chinese ebay style stores out there, had $400 worth of chargebacks today myself. Always nice to see ones income go down instead of up, gives one a nice warm fuzzy feeling :slight_smile:

Just to clarify, a chargeback is a result of a financial institution reporting that the transaction cant be processed because of a fraudulent source (i.e. someone purchased your asset with a stolen credit card). However, these take some time to be registered which is why you are just now getting a chargeback from before you changed your price.

Maybe the Asset Store should support Bitcoin as a payment method. Creditcards are becoming more and more annoying.

How about supporting more services similar to PayPall instead of a dodgy currency that publishers can only use in a minority of their other transactions.
