Hi I read on the web that latest Unity (5.6.1f1) should support .Net 4.6. But somehow I don’t have the option at all. Any idea?
Unity: 5.6.1f1 Personal.
Scripting Backend options: “Mono2X”
Api Compatibility Level: “.NET 2.0 Subset” and “.Net 2.0”
Am I mistaken?
There was a special Unity 5.6 Mono Upgrade Preview version with NET 4.6 support. It’s outdated now.
So, without using unity beta, are we supposed to be able to use .NET 4.6?
Are you just unaware of Unity 2017.x? There’s been a full year of official releases after 5.x ended. The beta is for 2018.1. 2017.3.1 is the current released version. 5.6.1 isn’t even the latest version of 5.6, and everything since 5.6.0 came out are just bug fixes.
@Joe-Censored Thank you for pointing it out. I just checked unity release history, found out 5.6 is out of date. Since I have auto update on, I thought unity will always update to latest version. Seems my expectation is wrong.
Again, thank you. sorry for the stupid question.
