APK size increases as I change values and prefabs even though I add nothing?

Hi all,

I’m working on an Android game, and its size was 80 MB when I first try the game on a phone. As I come across some bugs in the game, I changed some values (position, rotation, scale etc.) in the project, not added anything new. I realized that the APK file size was 82 MB after building and testing the game many times. I thought, it might be some related to the calculation thingy (± 1-2 MB). Lastly, I changed many prefabs (not added anything new and not added any new references to the prefabs, just changing scales and positions) then I build the game, and the APK file size increased by 1 MB. It is now 83 MB.

Why does Unity increases the APK file size as I flip some bits in the game? I guess, there is a cache or something that included in build unnecessarily. If so, how can I clear the cache?

Are you doing any light baking? That could certainly do it I’d think.

No. The game is 2D. There’s actually no lights in the game

Hmm yeah i’m not sure mate. I don’t know too much about doing Mobile devices. Perhaps it’s normal I’m not sure. But I don’t think changing positions and scales and such and it updating the meta-data for the object would have much effect in terms of megs. But I could be wrong.

I hope someone who has more experience in this matter can help you out.
