Hi guys , I just want to ask if any one know of any problems with apple and udid
If they have any errors about it ?
Ty
Yes, I am aware of many problems with Apple. Could you perhaps be a bit more specific about what kind of problems you’re interesting in?
I am a creator of a game , make story short , my programmers try To make the first beta test for ipads , and they keep telling me that they have problems
With apple approving the udid I gave them , up till now I gave them 3 udid ,
I don’t know what is the problems , I don’t know nothing about this things , it’s just that I am paying for this , and it’s sound fishy to me ,
Look… I appreciate that English may not be your first language, but you’re making it very difficult to understand what you’re saying. What specifically do you want to know?
I am not the programmer , so for me to test the game , what is my programmer need to do , so I be able to test it on my iPad ?
I suppose you and/or your programmer have read the manual?
http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/iphone-accountsetup.html
This is what I am trying to tell u ,
I am not the programmer , I don’t know about this things ,
My programmer is
He told me he did all the steps , but says apple have a problem with udid
Maybe your programmer should be talking here, and not you?
I know a few problems about apple, but I don’t feel like entering flame-and-bash-mode ![]()
Though… Really, look into the two links.
I never heard before of an “UDID” and after reading the two links it’s all sound-and-clear.
The UDID or Unique Device IDentifier, is needed for debugging purposes.
Without an UDID only apps accepted for general release / on the app store can be installed/ran.
How to find your UDID is described in step 4 of this link:
http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/iphone-accountsetup.html
But in all honesty… i don’t think this suddenly appeared (knowing apple, it’s always been this locked-up)
Either you must have supplied him with an incorrect ID,
Or one of you must have interpreted/executed one of the steps wrongly (might be a cause for the first to happen
),
Or there’s really a faulty UDID (which i doubt the most.)
And… just to be sure… on what platform is your developer running his development system; Windows, OSX, Linux?
all i anted to know is if my programer lies to me ,or not , about apple udid
Like stated in the link: Yes, an UDID needs to be applied to whatever developer license the developer is working under.
This needs to be done for every device that you want to use for running the application without releasing the application/version (not sure wether and how that exactly is different) to the market.
I just stated multiple things because it could be multiple situations as far as i could understand your questions.
On a side note: I’m not even an iOS developer myself.
But i know you need to run OSX for exporting an iOS app. (I only run Windows , so i don’t/can’t even develop for iOS myself)
The guides seem really transparent on the procedure though, and i’ve assigned UDID’s myself just fine using that procedure just by following it step by step (before i found out of the requirement of OSX
).
