OK, I’m here to vent, but also curious if anyone has had issues lately with submitting to the app store. This isn’t my first time submitting and the last time was about a year ago, with zero issues (approved straight away)
This time, however, I seem to have a tester who has no idea what they’re doing. Four times now they’ve raised a bug, we’ve shown it’s not a bug and to provide further information (we even supply video to show it working), and they don’t respond with more info, just move onto another “non-bug” which we supply video to show it work.
What on earth is happening!!!
Anyone else been having problems?
Anything we can do? We’ve yet again replied with videos today with the fourth “bug” they raised which again wasn’t a bug and at wits end now.
You can try to remove your app from review, and submit it for review again so that someone else can pick it up. If this keeps happening, submit an appeal to the App Review Board and let them review your rejected app instead of the normal reviewers.
The first version of my game was rejected about 4 times in total, delaying initial launch for a full month. They said that the app violated guideline 1.1.6, implying that my game contains false information or features. I asked the review person each time to specify the cause and attempted several changes in my app based on my own guesses. All they did was replying with the same copy-pasta that threatens to terminate my developer account due to this “offense” without pointing out what the “offending content” was. I ended up submitting an appeal to the Review Board out of despair, and surprisingly my app was approved a few days later.
There is also one instance that one update of my game got rejected because the reviewer could not perform an in-app purchase due to the a bug of the sandbox environment where the first purchase would sometimes fail for new sandbox account. I ended up writing two paragraphs to explain this situation. The update was approved soon after but they somehow messed up my in-app purchase item in App Store Connect that the pending IAP item was stuck in the review process. I had to add a workaround in my code to handle this specific situation.
Thanks yes will do that today. The incompetence of these “testers” is astounding - they’re incredibly lazy. Today they didn’t respond (again) to the last bug they were wrong on and said now we another bug, that again, wasn’t a bug. I’ve over this.
