Could be an interesting move for Unity free edition developers
Depends on how it works out.
Its not a closed platform as the iphone and if success works the same way as on the iphone it will rather likely be a fail for most as there established and working platforms already there.
If the dark users view on OSX 10.7 naturally hits then it might become an important platform, if apple basically enforces the application signing as a requirement etc
I think this is pretty cool news for developers. Of course, it does depend on how it works out but it seems like Apple have their way to make things work out.
Just noticed the whole other post about the new MacAPPstore.
It certainly makes me want to check out some stand alone stuff
