I just noticed that on itunes in the rank of paid apps (Caterogry), free apps are also showed. This is affecting my sales hard . Anyone know if apple made recent changing in rank system ?

It sounds like you’re looking at the Top Grossing, which is based on total revenue generated, from both sales inapp. A lot of free apps perform better because they have larger install bases.
There are about 30 free games to each non-free game in the top 50 these days. Free + in app purchase is the only way to go anymore, in my opinion. Although it’s ok to be a paid game initially, then move to free later on.
