Hi Guys, I’m trying to get Apple to change my account from personal to company. I’ve faxed them all the details but got radio silence.
I got an email this morning saying it’s time to renew my dev account. So I was thinking, is it better to just set up a new dev account instead?

My understanding is that it takes a much longer time to be approved as a company, versus as an individual. I signed up as a company it it took about 3 months for the process to be completed, including a final verification phone call from an Apple rep.
If you do as you plan, I would not be surprised if you’re out of the store for the transition period… you might be better off renewing your personal dev. enrollment while starting up the business one. Yay! Double the money for Apple…
This, of course, leaves out the questions of whether or not you have apps currently in the store and if/how you plan to migrate them.

There’s nothing in the store right now but one about a week or so to submission and another to quickly follow.
I think I’ll try and contact the local office and see if I can speed things along a little… 3 months would be a long wait(although I’m already 3 weeks into that I guess).
I think I’ll hold off until it’s all sorted.
