APV brick

What does this mean?

If it’s going to fill the empty space with the lowest density of probes according to your settings.

Ah ok, I thought APV was hierarchical 3d texture. You find any benefit of APV vs the good old probes?

You can sample probes per pixel or per vertex so it’s like the old LPPV but better, which also means you can sort of use them as a (kinda bad) lightmap replacement.

Also placement is now mostly automatic, but it has a lot of problems.

I don’t like them.

So they’re alpha.
Matches what I’m seeing in editor:

Per pixel, they add one 3d texture sample?

and which are they? seem to be non default. and proxy volume doesn’t work

I don’t think they have anything to do with 3d textures? They are light probes on a grid.

You need to tweak a bunch of settings in various paces for them to work and the process is a little different in URP and HDRP. Look up how to enable them.

I’ll wait until they fix their shit and hire someone who takes care of workflow, the UI in Unity 6 is an abomination

I don’t think the average human lifespan is enough time for Unity to do that.

Solution: maybe turn into a rock and wait for the tectonic plates to reassemble into Pangea?
