Hello everyone!
I have a small problem with APV system. When I bake lighting, everytime I get overlighted probes in different places of my scene. Example in attachments. There is my settings for APV and lighting.
Maybe I was do something wrong, but I can’t find any information about similar problem on youtube or here.
I tried to increase number of samples, but it wasn’t help.
Maybe problem not in APV system. I think in Unity6 something wrong with gpu lightmapper. I bake lighting with 1024 samples for indirect light. And still have bright spots or noise around my scene. I bake 512 samples without noise earlier on Unity 2023…
For example - on screenshot noise on shelves. There is just baked spotlight behind the camera.
Overall, there’s a sense that lighting in version 6 is being calculated somewhat differently, and the usual light source settings can produce such artifacts. Specifically, reflected light is causing these artifacts. I managed to minimize their occurrence by increasing the number of samples and moving the light sources further away from walls or ceilings.
There shouldn’t really be any major changes to the lightmapper with 2023/Unity 6. In case you are looking for help: The best you can do in a case like this is to file a bug report, we need to see the scene. The image isn’t really enough to debug.
