AR Diamond Rush is a hexagon style diamond mine themed augmented reality tower defense iOS game under development in my spare time. You play as a representative for a mining company that collects the diamonds from the floor (level) below you while you use crystal towers to defend against a onslaught of greedy miners looking to get past you and strike it rich. Unlike diamonds, crystals are plentiful in this world and different types of crystals are used to form different types of towers such as a freezing crystal for a freezing tower. These towers can be constructed on the raised hexagons. As you progress you take the lift down to increasingly deeper levels of the mine and face stronger miners until all the diamonds are collected by the company. The Augmented reality part is designed around using a large marker to manipulate the in-game camera and place the action in the “real world”.
I prefer to program things before doing any art so anything I show will likely use placeholder art while I focus on programmed game-play, functionality and optimizations (unless I find a artist).
