This is an RTS I developed, it took about a week and a half to make, and I spend another two weeks polishing it. It’s still a little rough, needing more levels and a proper ending. I would love to get some feedback!
Hi @WhendricSo ,
I think you need to provide more details about your game and possibly a video before I can provide any useful feedback.
What feedback specifically were you looking for?
Based on the picture it has nice visuals, but I can’t really tell what’s going on.
Whoops! Looks like I forgot to include a link to the game. I’ll edit my post at the top and you can also find it here
@WhendricSo
Oh great a playable game is even better.
So the visuals were good however…
I couldn’t work out how to control anything.
The buttons didn’t seem to do anything. If they were doing something then maybe a visual indicator like a flash of light where a unit spawns would be good.
I managed to get a breakout shield following my cursor to block some projectiles which was a pretty interesting addition.
Maybe I’m just stupid but perhaps a small instructional guide would help people like me ![]()
Scratch that I worked it out…So you click the button and then click where you want the building to spawn.
To make that more obvious you could add a ghost representation of the building to the cursor when you click the button.
Game seems good just not so intuitive in my opinion.
Either a guide or a tooltip description when you click on the different buildings would make a huge difference.
Also maybe a delay at the start before the enemy starts blasting you so I can work out what I want to build first! ![]()
Looks good so far, keep up the awesome work!
Okay thanks! I’ll try adding a better feedback loop. Also some people don’t realize that they can move the view to see their base, and any units they bought. Any idea how I could fix that?
I didn’t know you could move the view haha. I guess you could have little arrows on the edge of the screen, pointing to your units which are off the screen. I’m not sure how big the map is, but a minimap with a rectangle showing your view is a good indicator that you’re not seeing the entire map.
single/multi?
This one’s a singleplayer game
