Architectural Beginners Kits: Prefabs and tutorials for design visualization projects

Hi!

fwiw, I just posted the new ‘Architectural Beginner’s Kit 2,’ ([Updated: No Longer Available – New Updated Kit Coming Soon!] | Arch Virtual VR Training and Simulation for Education and Enterprise) along with a brief video demo showing some of the features included in the kit (http://bit.ly/g6KgQS).

This is a follow-up to Architectural Beginner’s Kit 1 (http://bit.ly/e8ym58) and I just added a brief video describing that one as well (http://bit.ly/ebInRy).

These kits may seem very simplistic to more advanced users of Unity, but I’ve found that many architects and designers who are new to Unity have limited (if any) programming experience, and even these simple features can be challenging and time consuming to set up. My intention with these kits is to help save them some time, and lower their learning curve by providing a set of simple prefab tools and tutorial documentation, specifically tailored to architecture and design visualization, that can be used to make those projects more effective.

The kits include both prefab units and descriptive documentation, such that users can quickly make use of them by importing the prefabs into their own Unity projects, or they can drill a little deeper into the tutorial documentation where they can learn how each element and script works, and how they can be customized to suit their project’s individual requirements.

If you have any ideas for features that would be useful in future kits, please send me a note - info (at) archvirtual.com. Many thanks to Tyler Cook at Certain Logic Studios for working with me to develop these!

Hi,

Are you guys still developing the Architectural Beginner’s Kit? I don’t see any updates since 2010. Is it compatible with the latest Unity version?

Thanks

The Kits are still available.

Also, to compliment the Architectural Beginner’s Kits, we recently published an eBook titled, “Architectural Visualization with the Unity3D Gme Engine”

It is available HERE.
