Are assets protected in a released build?

When I look at the result of an application build, in the resultant fileset I can’t work out which files contain which assets from my source project. This is good - it appears to me the source is obfuscated, preventing an end user extracting those assets (e.g. a 3D model) and using it elsewhere.

However, this is an assumption on my part. I need to reassure someone that this REALLY is true, in order to get permission to model something. I’d far prefer to be able to say I “know” this is the case, rather than I simply “believe” it to be the case.

Does anyone know of a definitive statement on this subject? (I’ve had a search and haven’t found it - maybe I’m not thinking of the correct search terms).

Not really. There’s plenty of resources online people can go to get assets from a build. The resources are all just loosely wrapped in almost like a *.zip file. Anyone who really wants to can extract them. Going in to details is against forum rules, though, if I recall correctly.

Thank you for the answer, it’s a pity not the one I wanted!
