Are Blender layers accessible in Unity?

I have checked online but cannot find any info on the subject. I have created a character in blender. Everything is done in one layer except for a pair of sunglasses in a separate layer. I can toggle the sunglass layer visibility on and off to give my character a different look. Can I do this in Unity or will I have to treat the sunglasses as a different object and instantiate them on my characters face via an empty gameObject?

It will be two gameObjects, position the sunglasses as you’ve suggested (similar to how one might do a helm, different hair styles, etc)

Unity layers are different from Blender layers, but that would be cool, see feedback.unity3d.com You should export each of those layers as separate objects. They should have the same origin so instantiating the glasses should fit right where they should be.
