I’m just evaluating Unity UGC, and noticed under “Authentication Providers” it lists Apple, Factbook, Google. Is it possible to use UGC with our own authentication provider or something like OpenID?
Under Unity Gaming Services there’s an option called Authentication and it allows many other authentication providers but these don’t appear in UGC?
It’s currently not possible to use your own authentication provider, but this is something we’re currently working on!
We’re going to add OpenID soon and then possibly support the other methods offered by UGS Authentication.
Is there a timeline for that? Currently using ParseSDK with Back4App and wanting to switch to UGC but need to have it up and running in 4-6 weeks. Want to release with custom or open id auth
I wanted to follow up an mention that if you’re not using the web portal which includes the creator center, and the moderation center that you don’t need to worry about authentication providers. You should be able to perform any operations without them.
With that being said, for the moderation center, creator center, and UGC Bridge we’re still on track to update those to support OpenID.
