I’ve seen many games use a very similar (if not the same) mechanic, some of which are very recent but I forgot their names.
I’m talking about the mechanic of having a door not attached to a wall, and just sort of standing there. Where the player can walk around it, but when looking at it from one side, you can see something like a room, and you can walk through the door, and suddenly you’re in a room with walls around you.
Would something like this be possible in Unity (free version)? Keep in mind this isn’t a support thread, and I’m not asking for help on how to do this (because I’m not even sure I will end up using this mechanic). I’m just wondering if it’s possible, and if so, what part of Unity would you use (shaders, scene switching, materials, etc.)?
