Hi all,
Well to start of I should say Im more a programmer than a designer, but I had to learn 3d designing stuff on my own to work on games on my own so maybe my learning was not complete in some areas and maybe Im missing something obvious. In the image you see the cube has some artifacts after baking the shadows there, it was originally an all blue cube, solid color, and I was just trying to learn the baking process but after so many trial and errors this is the best I could get (as plane object was correctly baked not like my previous attempts) so I wonder, is there any explanation for the strange effect Im obtaining here? I have only one directional light in scene, in fact I tried adding more lights as I have seen in tutorials that its possible but I couldnt find where to indicate more than one light to bake the map, I only see the slot for one thats said to be the sun, so for now I was just with one light, by the way if you know where can I indicate the additional lights it would be great. Thanks a lot in advance for any clue to correctly understand how this works =).
On the mesh import settings choose Generate Lightmap UVs.

Awesome, thanks a lot Stardog =), I had been playing around with all the values thinking it could be any of those and never went into that import settings tab, problem fixed thank you!! =).
