Last year I bought some assets in the Asset Store.
But now, I cannot download it again. The download button change to: “Unavailable”, and the Asset Publisher webpage change to “404 Not found”. And no way I can download this asset again.
Note this case is not “the publisher deprecated this asset” <== that case I still can download it.
I think Asset Store has banned completely this Publisher. Maybe he infringing on copyright?
So I have questions:
If the publisher, and the asset that I buy become “unavailable”, there is no way for me to download this again?
If the publisher stole the asset somewhere, then re-sell it on the store. I bought it from the store. After that Unity Asset Store know that, then ban the publisher and his asset. But I have downloaded, modified the asset (re-paint the texture, edit some mesh, change some code…) for my game.
==> At this time can I still use that asset for my commercial game?
And if I have already public my game, will I have problem with this?
It could be anything, really. Which asset / publisher are you referring to? And did you check if it’s available in package manager or in My Assets of your Asset Store account?
The asset store went down last night for a bit, I know because I went to download some things . and it was totally down around that time. check today, should be fine.
It looks like a message that would appear when it was removed by Unity. Likely because the asset itself was e.g. ripped from a game.
Most of the links in the thread that Rowlan mentioned also display the “Unfortunately, [ASSET NAME] is no longer available” message, so… there you go.
