Asset not rendering in Game View 3D

So I have a game object not rendering in my setup seen below. What am I missing?

As I did more experimenting, it would seem that no object in the subscenes gets rendered, in preview or play mode. I know I have to be missing something. So, I installed hybrid renderer (using dots), and the preview is still borked, but at least play mode renders (in 0.4.2, NOT 0.5.0)
