Hi There! Here we prefer to use the package integration because it is easier to setup procedurally and we can keep the Ads version up to date without updating Unity itself.
The question is: do you support the UnityAds Asset package integration for Unity 5.5, 5.6, 2017.1, etc?
The service integration is really annoying to our pipeline.

Yes we do support the asset store package in all mentioned Unity versions, also 2017.2 is being tested with asset store package (some known issues, which however is being worked on). As mentioned on Issues with Ads from Services window? Missing assemblies? - look here , Unity is working on a package manager feature for the editor, however no estimate on when we can fully move to that.
In any case, we’re very much aware of the need for doing custom initialization of Ads SDK, e.g. to control game id, and will have a solution for this going forward.
