For many of you who purchase our products know we love to create apocalyptic environments,
for our latest apocalyptic series we have been working on assets aimed at mobile platforms,
working on assets for mobile was fun and challenging to get great quality and performance.
A while ago we release Apocalyptic City and was shocked by its popularity within the unity community
and on the asset store
So we thought why not remaster all of the Apocalyptic world series to Next Gen standard and create the ultimate apocalyptic asset.
So we started working on Apocalyptic City 2
This asset is set to contain 130+ Assets and 20+ terrain assets (Grass / Reeds / Flowers)
Support for season Changes and Building Interiors

The Preview

I thinks its because we are going for the Next-Gen look and adding in lots of vegetation
Well it will be around 4 weeks before we are ready for release as we have allot of models to remaster
if this is somthing you do end up using i would like to see what you do with it.
This will be released as a new asset as these assets have a slightly higher polly mesh and higher resolution textures
and will not be great on the mobile assets
This asset we be released at $75 due to its size
As this would only apply to people who own the assets before we release Apocalyptic City 2
i’m sure we could come up with something
Those who can’t do, teach. I have lots of input on what this asset could really use to make it totally brilliant but I might make it sound like I think it’s currently crap if I post all my ideas here So I think I’ll limit my opinions to email
I will make two notes here, though… the one thing that really spoiled it for me in your other kits is the car. It actually LOOKS like it was made to be used with low poly games and not like it was made for next gen games. I actually prefer to delete the car completely when I play around with your kits as I really don’t like the car (erosional taste). So first note I’d make is to give the car a serious makeover more in line with the extra polys you can waste when dealing in high end projects. For example, no windows… an interior, badly banged up body work etc etc etc…
Secondly, what would truly make this project stand out even more is some sound effects and animations… Not entire background tracks, just a few sounds like a swooshing effect and some dust when you go around a certain corner and a sound of metal on metal when you get near a sign that is hanging on one chain, flapping around and knocking against itself… maybe a shutter flapping open and closed against the side of a building…
Basically… animation! Subtle, yet there. Like I mentioned before about the flickering mood lighting. Any animation is always welcome. It can’t hurt. Add whatever animations you can for that extra tad of realism…
Just a thought… Looking forward to seeing the final product
When it comes to cars you really need to keep an eye on poly count as cars need allot, in modern car racing game the cars have up to 100,000 tris
but but most of the environment is made up with extremely low poly environments and backdrops
As this asset is not designed for car racing games we need to have a balance between car and environment poly count
Agreed. No need to go and add all of MotorStorm’s level of detail with independently modelled suspensions and what not… But just an update would be most welcome.
I have the one particular image in mind that would explain exactly what I mean but since I know exactly what I’m after, do you think I can get to on Google? Oh no, sir. Now I get pictures of Mickey Mouse fighting CaptainHook and Mad Max with a dog when I search for car wrecks…

Of course, if you anted to go some serious overkill you could always include something like this
In an apocalyptic environment guns would look the same
but we noticed that these type of weapons are not really available on the unity assets store
so we decided to create 4 old damaged weapons for this pack
today we created a M9 Pistol to show the weapon look and quality we are going for
We want you to decide what outer guns we create so give your ideas
Absolutely fantastic! One of the things that are lacking the most on the asset store is good quality guns, suitable for FPSs.
As far as the next guns go, I have no idea what would be fitting. However, I look forward to you people creating more things like this in the future.
Maybe have a Modern Guns pack? (One that looks good enough to be used in a FPS?)
