Any plans to update Asset Server itself to the new version? Links in the documentation still lead to 2.0.1 download, and i belong to unlucky group of angry users, who couldn’t install it on Windows even with improved shamanism skill.
Asset Server 2.0.1 is the new version, just a few months old basically.
There is no newer server and by its normal pace won’t be one till late 2011++
Yeah, i tried it 3 month ago, it still doesn’t work for me, as i reported here:

It pretend to be “Fixed a Windows installer problem”, but it doesn help, if it doesn’t work after succesfull install.
The windows problem is annoying yes. But I posted a workaround back then as I had to fight my way through the install on my win2k8 server too … or not through the instlal but the annoying error you get that prevents the service from installing at all etc 
I tried all available workarounds and even get hated by my system administrator for several request to switch computer from/ to domen, but nothing helps, so i’m using VMWare image. It’s black box for me, cause i’m completely lost in openSuse, so if i want to backup the base i have to backup whole huge virtual machine folder. It’s ANNOYING.
I’m not even using domains so that part shouldn’t be needed.
for me it was all about being on the user that unity will use for the service later on, so logged in as that one, and install it from there.
