/not knowing much about these, I see their price as VPS is way lower than a windows solution.
Is it possible to run the asset server VM file on one of these?
There is no asset server vm file, is there?
I know that running it in a vm works but keep in mind that the VM file must have a massive size as the postgre sql that holds the assets needs to fit into the OSs local filesystem.

must have missed that then, my installation has been around since release of AS2 and done back then on windows as my VMWare virtual machine had a tendency to fuckup the filesystem of my linux box, trashing the whole Asset Server repo, killing the purpose why I set it up on VM (independent of hw failures) ^^
