Asset Server..... where are the revision files stored

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but I have not seen it addressed and the documentation on the Asset Cache and Asset Versioning servers is quite sparse.

when a Update to a Assets say a character model or whatever is committed to the Asset Server. I know that the older version is backup to some location. as well as the current version is placed on the server. where do these live? I mean I can created a new project on the server but I don’t see where it lives on the server physically. I mean there are a ton of directories inside the Asset Server folder that have just numbers and such for names.

Are all of the files stored somewhere under the asset server program folder? If so This should be made clear during the install so that the user can install the asset server to a different more appropriate location. I mean I guess this is really only a windows problem since it would be easy to symlink and fix the problem but in windows it can be a big problem. And… If the files do not HAVE to live under the program folder the installer should give the user the opportunity to specify a location as a storage root for projects.

If you are asking where the files are on your c drive it is here for window machines:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store

Not items purchaces from the asset store I’m talking about Commits made to the Asset Server for versioning.
