Asset Server

Hello,

I have my own desktop with unity pro installed and also my own laptop which i have recently installed pro as well…

I just acquired the asset server but its unable to start itself to set it up and use it.

i did install it but for some reason i cant locate the program!

please help this noob :slight_smile: i have to sync my weekend work to my desktop :stuck_out_tongue:

The asset server has no frontend program. It’s basically just a PostgreSQL database that runs in the background and accepts connections on port 10733.

The actual logic is inside the Unity client and that’s where you have to set it up. Open Unity and look in the Server menu, there’s everything you need.

Thats the main problem i have also, i dont have the “server menu” on my unity as well… i dont know how or why! :slight_smile:

@wuwu: Are you sure you purchased the asset server version of unity? Only that one has the server menu inside. The normal indy and pro versions don’t have that option.

If you’re sure you bought it I guess you should contact Tom Higgins to clear that.

If I remember correctly, you’ll have to enter the serial number you received with your asset server purchase to Unity. Maybe that was what was missing?

actually i figured out why i didnt enter the asset serial before!

i never got that mail!

*goes to mail unity support to get them to resend it
