Asset shop is unbeliveable!

And i was naively thinkinh that is can not be any worse and awesomely bad asset shop developers prooved me wrong again. I mean seriously whose nephew is working on this trash? Why is this guy not working in McDonalds by now?

If cant get him out then force him to return previous version of shop because this one is not better in any way. Same pointles rpeloadings of tons of useless data and still no way to filter troll shops.

Also it is dosn’t even work in case u have not noticed it keeps relink me to nonworking links like i had asset open in tab then next time i open browser it relink me to login and then to not working linkto and says asset dosnt exist to confuse you. I mean i have been making sites for long time and even on hobby level such quality would be unacceptable.

Sorry if i offended anyone i realy tryed no to.

The quality of the post you have written is hard to understand and details appear to be missing.

If you want to be understood, feel free to add a paragraph in your native language. Perhaps someone with better understanding of both will be able to help.

Here is what I think you said:

“The new asset store sucks. Whenever someone gives me a link, or I follow a link, it puts me on the front page instead!”

In which case, I agree. The new asset store sucks and is buggy, and it is not ready yet. Personally I find it an exercise in frustration whenever I try to send someone a link to an asset, so now I don’t.

Old store links and new store links are not the same. That’s why. Old store links will lead you to new store home page… if you want to revert to old store make sure to go in your profile and then click revert to old store. Most links are for the old store. I agree this is kind of a mess… good luck

Isn’t this a problem that could have been fixed with some clever url redirects that convert the old format into the new format (at least as long as they didn’t change the id numbers for assets and publishers in their database, which I doubt they did)?

Yeah I don’t understand why backwards compatibility with links wasn’t part of the plan. Same with the forum links that show up on Google, there are links from the old forum, links from the “new” one they tried, and half the time they end up as dead ends.

The first law of web development is “maintain link compatibility at all times, across the board, to reduce dead page requests!”

Well, ok, that’s not the first law. It’s like 23rd or 24th on the list though, but, yeah.

It’s a bad job. Good job it’s not NASA or something and just a random but fun game engine

Interestingly enough this isn’t quite accurate. First time you click on the link it will take you to the new store home page, but the second time you click takes you to the actual asset. At least that’s how it’s been for me.

What annoys me most is that i like to have some open tabs with interesting products that i want to check later and with this new shop many tabs gets nuked when you have to relogin.

Agreed. I don’t understand why a login should be mandatory for the assetstore. That makes zero sense to me.

Specific Customer behavior tracking??? For future personalized ad campaign and recommendation.??

Should be able to do mostly the same thing with a cookie. And if the want to personalize ads they can just email me, like they do all the time with those mails that often get their own thread here because they look so much like spam. The mandatory login just makes me think “well, guess I don’t really need to browse the store that urgently anyway, I’ll do it another time”.

Those are great reasons to use a logged in user’s information. They are not a great reason to make it mandatory.
