You really need to put some pressure on those Eurocrats that force you to only let a transaction pass through when you have confirmed my VAT-ID. I actually wanted to buy 2 or 3 of the packages on the sale last night (in addition to quite a few packages that I had already stored in my shopping cart for a little while) … but that didn’t work because the VAT-ID couldn’t be confirmed.
I also tried it on their Website - didn’t work either.
So, I sent them a mail and told them I’m losing money (well, it’s not a lot of money but hey
) … no reply so far.
Tried it again this morning. Didn’t work.
Tried it again a little later. Didn’t work.
That’s a joke and someone needs to let those Eurocrats know they’re seriously harming business.
Now, finally, almost 24 hours later, my transaction went through.
But … I made the transaction a little “smaller” by removing the packages I had added yesterday. It wasn’t anything I desperately needed to have right now but just something I’d like to have and the price was really nice … which I guess is the point of those sales ![]()
I know it’s not your fault - but those people really need to get some serious feedback (I did my part yesterday
).
So … do they really have that confirmation on each transaction? Sounds like we got some serious control-freaks here in Europe. This is actually not even their business to be involved in a transaction between you and me (you file taxes, I file taxes, no reason for them to become paranoid).
I missed this ![]()
This month’s sale was weak. And, I’m still glad you did it. I enjoy looking at each of the plugins - exciting!

I would really like to see these sales become 48 hours or even 72 hours. I do not always have time to check the Unity forums every day, and I am sure that others are in the same sort of position.
And you didn’t get an email either.
It shouldn’t take all that long, I don’t think. Does this happen even when there isn’t a sale?
@Socrates and Wild factor, if you follow us on our social channels twitter.com/unity3d and facebook.com/unity3d we always post it on there too, not just the forums.
By the time I saw the email it was over, so I agree a 48hr or maybe even 72hr would have been better.
+1
We have lives and different timezones,
There is a reason a steam daily sale is 48 hours ![]()
+1 for 48h
That was the first time I had seen this issue. IIRC, the last time I had issues with my VAT-ID was like 5 1/2 years when I first purchased Unity … and back then it was actually my own fault because I didn’t really know how to use that thing ![]()
The issue persisted after the sale, though … and frankly, I don’t think the Unity Asset Store should DoS the servers of these agencies just because of a little “Asset Store Madness”. I tried checking my own VAT-ID directly against their system and that also failed - so it obviously wasn’t a problem with the Unity Asset Store but a problem with Europe.
Well … maybe I shouldn’t surprised about that these days :-/
I’ve read someone else having that issue recently somewhere - but I wasn’t able to dig up that posting (it might have been not on the forums).
Oh, and btw: +1 for 72 hours ![]()
How do I get on a mailing list to be notified of these sales? I looked everywhere I could think of on the Unity site and in the Asset Store window in Unity, but couldn’t find anywhere to sign up.
+1 for 48h or 72h.

WE WANT LONGER. I might’ve dished into some of these sales, I didn’t even notice it until later.
it has been more then a month since the last sales, and everyone has forgotten abt it…lol
alternative is to have it every fortnight, minimum 50% discount, 24hr rush…
On the other hands, i still have many unused assets…lol
