What I am starting is a group that experiments with unity store assets and discusses strengths, weaknesses, and possible implementation. The idea is to bring people together and encourage use of the asset store through better understanding. So one asset or a group of assets would be the “theme” for a 2 week period at the end of which we would meet and discuss what we have learned from the asset and best practices. Many of the assets have a cost associated with them. If we are purchasing an asset from the store to learn and discuss in this way would we need to buy it for every participant?
For example, currently I own the asset packet Chronos (Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making), and have made this asset the theme for our upcoming discussion. What I would like to do is have participants working with the tool to learn its features, then if they are going to use it for their projects they would need to buy it. Is this legal? Is there any restriction or precautions I should consider to make sure we don’t tip into illegality?
any help with clarifying this would be much appreciated.
