ASSET STORE PROMOTES FRAUD

Over the past 2 months I have had to babysit two VERY BROKEN assets on your store.

I contacted you through email to get a refund based on factual proof I have shown that the assets DONT DO WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. THUS FALSE ADVERTISING, THUS FRAUD!

Yet the only reply you give me is that the developers seem to run your store because you give them all power to decline an refunds based on how they feel on the day? Are you serious?! You give them free reign to teal from us, the paying customers and we just need to suck it up take being ripped off by broken products. What other REAL store ACTUALLY does this? I if go and return a product to a store I get a refund or vouchers, no questions asked. But for some reason you people thought it best to allow anyone to create broken assets and be allowed to continuously rip customers off!

Most pathetic thing I’ve ever experienced. Zero common sense unity I am utterly disgusted at your service and care of the people who bring into the money!

So be warned when buying form the asset store people, Unity couldn’t give a crap about you after you pay money to them and their little ring of thieving developers!

Lastly dont even try give me the excuse that its a digital products, because Steam give refunds on crap games, no reason for you to hide behind that little pathetic excuse.

First, you need to calm down. It’s hard to take someone seriously when acting like that. Second, what asset? Does it work on the Unity version that it was published on?

Unity doesn’t publish broken assets, so its probably just an old/unmaintained asset or doesn’t work on the version of Unity that you are using.

Clearly not seeing as you promote the fact that if its an maintained asset, I, as the paying customers must STILL be the one to take suck it up as the developer doesn’t have to refund me for something that doesn’t work. So he runs off scott free with my money and no product delivery

Secondly, please don’t attempt to clam that there aren’t broken assets on the store, because there are PLENTY.

Lastly is NOT ABOUT THE ASSET itself, its about the EULA that supports developers over customers. The asset store/Unity should be the ruling party given factual evidence that the asset doesnt work as advertised, not the developer who made it. This is how all legal courts work, for a very good reason. A 3rd party, jury or judge makes the final call, not the criminal defending himself. Currently he is give ALL power, even when proven guilty

You didn’t ask a question. You ranted on about the current state of the asset store.

If you are expecting a rational discussion here, you should post a link to the asset so we can all be on the same page.

If an Asset is not working correctly, contact the developer of said Asset. Writing a very bad post in capital letters or calling a product and service bullshit (non-constructive criticism) isn’t the way to go.

The whole issue is that I shouldn’t have to contact the dev. If the asset is broken or supplies false advertising and I supply sufficient proof there of, Unity should over rule the dev and provide me with a refund. Again I say, please read and understand the topic, I clearly stated this above. It really isn’t a difficult one.

I am looking for a UNITY rep to comment on why the customer has no power after paying for a broken product. Not some biased “developer’s” opinion.

Lastly the product is BS and have have supplied proof there of.

Thats not the arrangement UAS provides.

Publishers are more like a store in a mall, you don’t return your new sneakers to Mall Security because they don’t tie themselves - you take them back to the store you bought them from and express your confusion to them. Its up to the store to decide if you are entitled to a refund as a courtesy since “all sales are final” is part of the EULA you agreed to when buying from the Asset Store. If you don’t like the idea of that then you shouldn’t have bought anything.

UAS tests every New Asset submission and every Update submission before approval and actually going live on the store. There are a lot of prerequisites and mandatory guidelines when submitting a new asset. If the product does not work in the submitted Unity Version then the New Asset or Update is rejected. Even a lack of good documentation can result in rejection. Broken assets are indeed, not published. They will work on their published Unity Version.

Since you seem to think that the product is broken then it is more likely that you are using an unsupported Unity version or don’t understand how the product works. A good test is to open any demo scenes provided with the Asset and confirm that they work as intended.

It’s also worth noting that after a refund is issued the customer still retains access to the Asset and all future Updates.

The “proof” you provided doesn’t show much more than the extent of your skills. A proper test, again, is to review any provided demo scenes.
