I’m feeling very perplexed about the asset workflow for FBX / Maya Native files. When I make a change in Maya and save the Maya file or re-export the FBX file, a prefab that uses this file updates the vertex positions and keyframes but nothing else. To get node transforms to update (e.g. rotations on a mesh), I have to delete the FBX from a prefab instance in the Hierarchy, drag and drop the FBX onto the prefab instance and click “Apply” in the Inspector. Few questions:
- Why doesn’t everything in the FBX get updated after the file has been updated? Why ONLY vertex positions and keyframes?
- What do the editor commands Reimport and Refresh do?
