assets continuous auto-reload

Hi,

I’ve reported this through the bug report tool, but it is such an odd issue, I thought it worth seeing if others have seen it.

I’m testing the 2.5 trial on 2 windows machines. On one computer, it works perfectly. On the other, it is having real trouble. When I load an asset package (any package), every script throws up errors related to class names not matching the file names, although they do. More strangely, anytime I open a script and then close the script, the entire asset package gets reloaded! Even more odd, if I simply click outside of the unity application window, and then click back inside the window, the asset package gets reloaded.

I’ve tried uninstalling unity, cleaning out all references to it in the registry, etc. thinking that some corrupt file was loaded in somewhere, but it doesn’t help. I’m getting ready to reformat the entire computer and start with a fresh install of windows and unity, but wanted to check here first.

My education research group has an order for 10 pro licenses on hold while we try to figure this out.

Thanks,

Brian Nelson

Was the project copied from a Mac? I’ve heard that some people have problems in that area.

No, the problem started upon first installation of 2.5 for windows. The first time the unity application started, and loaded the island demo, the asset reloading issue began.

I’m ready to throw in the towel, and reinstall windows!
