Hi people -
I have been making a game in unity where in my assets folder I have been putting lots of things in folders making them quite big. The problem is that once i have a folder with so many meshes, scripts, and sub folders inside it it simply won’t let me put any more stuff in it. I ended up having this problem with the base assets folder itself - I tried to move some stuff from sub folders into the main assets folder, and it simply wouldn’t let me. So, since I am a bit of a unity noob, I did the most stupid thing I could possibly do - I clicked “reveal in finder” and got into the project folder and moved the stuff manually. Of course, this de-assigned all of the materials, meshes, mesh colliders, sound files, and everything, which is really annoying since I can’t undo it. So my question is why are these folders not letting me put any more stuff into them? Is it something to do with me being on a mac? I don’t know, because I don’t really have that much stuff in these folders, and its not like folders can get too full or anything…
I haven’t reached a size limit for a folder, but you can organize the folders within Unity, that way you won’t lose connections (materials, meshes etc).
