I realize that “scale” is relative, but I had also assumed that the default editor settings (in terms of FOV etc) were designed so that a scale of 1 meter per unit would look correct when the user walks through a scene during Play mode and also when I position the camera at the character’s eye level in editor mode; but that doesn’t seem to be the case. A 3 x 3 meter room looks smaller than it should and feels awkward to navigate with the normal FOV settings and a roughly 5 foot tall character. My real-life bedroom is about 3x3 meters, but the in-game room looks like it’s closer to half that size, and moving through it feels cramped, as if I’m 9 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Sure, I could change that by lowering the height of the character and shrinking the FOV, but I shouldn’t need to do that, right?
Anyone have any ideas on this? Ism’t the normal FOV 60 degrees?
I found the following thread which mentions the same problem I’m having, but the replies didn’t really help much: Ideal camera FOV or settings for Architectural Interiors - Unity Engine - Unity Discussions
