Very exciting

Great. Now unity is going to lose its indie cred.

I’m more interested in what the money will be used for. Personally, I’m hoping for new platforms. Specifically, XBox Live would be good.

Agress 100%,
PSP-MINIs, PSN, XBLA  ( indies and or small studios )
PSP,PS3, XBOX360 retail ( mid-large studios )

PSP will never happen with Unity (ok potentially with source licenses), because even Unity iPhone with stripping already requires 11mb of RAM and the PSP has 32mb for all data (app and texture and sound) and on top of that is 50% to 250% slower than the iphone, thus a near granted “little to no fun to use” scenario.

PSN and XBLA would be nice, though I doubt that most that request that even have the required business to stand a chance to get Sony / MS dev licenses required to do any work for those two, not to speak of retail releases. But I guess that comes from the pretty common web missassumption that XBLA and PSN are as open platforms as the iPhone Appstore which is not even close to true.
