Athos Technical Demo

It gives me immense pleasure in sharing my fifth technical demo (Athos) and the very first using the Unity Engine, my previous four projects were using the Ogre rendering engine and can be found in detail on my blog/website below.

It has been a great experience and Athos is the first of many to come, the Unity Engine is pretty comfortable for someone like me who comes from a serious C++ background, of course the question may arise do I like Ogre or Unity and the answer is they are both unique in their own ways.

Anyway Athos is a tracked vehicle test project and is a precursor to the current project I am working on which is a full-fledged game.

Stay tuned for more updates on my blog.

Environment, fx and audio are all absolutely stunning. Quality work.
Did you create the environment pieces yourself alone, or were they purchased?
Either way - it looks very beautiful.

I also wanted to compliment on your development process. It seems like a very sane and logical approach to development, tech demo to gauge the viability of a complete product. Though I do not see very much gameplay, there is some focused functionality created in the demo.
Some may argue dedicating so much time to visuals isn’t practical for a mvp. While others may argue part of what makes a lot of successful games labeled as special and delivering a great experience is equally attributed to the aesthetic delivery. It could be said testing if that level of quality and detail can be achieved or not is as important as finding the right balance of interactivity, story telling and the right feel for button clicking.

Please continue what you have begun.
