When combining textures into an atlas, a 256x512 plant stem texture gets converted to 512x512. How can I maintain the original resolution without automatic conversion?
Depending on how your UV wrap settings for your stem texture, that can cause a change in the resolution of the texture shown in the atlas. Here is a more detailed explanation from one of our other artists.
For example, as you can see here, I have a 512x2048 texture, but if I do some funky UV wrapping, it doesn’t stay conformed to it’s original resolution:
You can manually adjust the scale of your texture using the non-proportional scale tool in the export dialog (I circled it in the picture above). However, I’ll pass along a note to the team that you’re interested in seeing something like an automatic resolution converter.
